The competition is powered by Acer and supported by the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore and the Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau (SECB).

Chicago Public Schools and Science Olympiad are proud to enter the 12th year of the Urban Schools Initiative (USI) program for 2018-2019, with more than 35 middle and high schools represented. "After participating in Science Olympiad and winning two medals at the Regional Tournament, I decided I wanted to major in science," said a member of the Steinmetz High School Science Olympiad team.

Air Force Recruiting Service recognizes that Science Olympiad team members embody many of the core principles that make a great leader, and presented the two gold medal winners of the MagLev event at the 2014 Science Olympiad National Tournament with $1,000 college scholarships, as they have done annually since 2011. A former Science Olympiad competitor now serving in the Air Force said, "Science Olympiad gave me an opportunity to develop my scientific and engineering mind so when I went to college and eventually on to my military career, I was a better prepared individual."
